A sense of New York in the heart of Athens

The Baby Grand Hotel brings together all that makes Athens unique: history, culture, innovation, and diversity. 10 international artists from the fields of urban art, graffiti design and illustration transformed Baby Grand, into Europe
LOCATION
Metro

Lines 1 & 2, station Omonia.

Train Station

Larissis Station (1,5 km) By Metro: take Line 2 (Sepolia -Dafni) to Station Omonia.

Direction from the Airport to Hotel (40 kms):

By bus & metro: Take bus Express E95 just outside the airport all the way to Syntagma square. Take metro line 2 (Dafni – Sepolia) and get off at Omonia station.

By car: Exit the airport from the south gate and take Attiki Odos until you meet Leoforos Marathonos where you turn left. This avenue changes name to Leoforos Mesogeion and then to Leoforos Vassilisis Sofias that brings you to Syntagma Square. Turn right to Panepistimiou Street and drive straight ahead to Omonia Square.

Harbour

Pireaus (10 km)

By metro: Take line 1 to Omonia station.

By car: Take Vassileos Kostantinou all the way to Piraeus Ave that leads to Omonia square.

Acropolis

The Acropolis hill is the crown jewel of Athens and all of Greece. With the still standing Parthenon temple as its symbol, the Acropolis is truly a wonder of the world, containing four ancient buildings. The Parthenon was built between 447and 432 B.C. and most of the arte facts from the temple are housed today in the Acropolis museum near the Parthenon. Al soon the Acropolis, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion and the Propylea.

The Theatre of Dionysos and Odeon of Herod Atticus

Just below the Acropolis hill are two ancient theatres that must not be missed: the Dionysos and Odeon of Herod Atticus. The oldest of the Greek theatres, built in the fourth century B.C., the Theater of Dionysos once hosted plays of Euripides, Aristophanes, Sophocles and Aesculus, could seat as many as 17000 spectators. The reconstructed Odeon of Herod Atticus amphitheatre is used during the summer to host the Athens Festival performances. Truly one of the most impressive ancient monuments in Athens, it was first built by Roman ruler Herod Atticus in the second century A.D. The theatre can seat 5000 spectators.

The Ancient Agora

At the foot of the Acropolis is the Ancient Agora, known as the commercial and public centre of ancient Athens. During the classical age, such notables as Sophocles and Aristotle taught there. Thesseion, one of the most intact of the ancient Greek temples, is located at one end of the Ancient Agora. It was first built in 450 B.C. Pnyx, hill on the west side of the Acropolis. In ancient times this hill, which offers a splendid view of the Acropolis and a must for photographers, was the meeting place for Athenians to decide issues. Philopappou Hill, topped with a funeral monument of Philopappos, a Romanconsul of the second century A.D. A cave on the Philopappou hill is believed to have been the prison of Socrates and where he drank his fatal dose of hemlock.

Shopping

Shopping in downtown Athens (the Commercial Triangle as called by thelocals) is an experience with big and small shops and boutiques clustered around and along Ermou St.-the capital’s ever popular downtown walkway, sophisticated Stadiou St.(we recommend the largest department store in the centre of Athens, CityLink), classy Voukourestiou St., traditional Pandrossou walkway and elegant Mitropoleos Str. You may find anything, from small decoration items of convenient prices to well-known designers’ creations. Plaka and Monastiraki remain open until late in the evening as well as all day Sunday.

Night out

Psiri, just north of Plaka, is Athens’ busiest nightlife area. Restaurants, caf

Eridanus Hotel is named after the historic river that crossed the city of Athens. The hotel is an elegant, friendly, luxurious and modern place that has turned hotel hospitality into an art form. The
Eridanus 5 stars Hotel has been in operation since June 2004 and is housed in a neoclassical landmark that belonged to the Strefis, a historical Athenian family. Luxury and construction quality are in perfect harmony in these modern, monumental and beautifully decorated hotel areas, which are characterized by elegant colour combinations and smart lighting, all in a relaxing, pleasant setting.

Modern style paintings, by Giorgos Lazongas, dominate the decorative artistic touch and make for a “historical”, yet wonderfully blended contrast when compared to the neoclassical authentic ceiling frescos, which were very carefully conserved piece by piece before being replaced in their original places in the hotel.

The unique view of the Acropolis is incomparable to anything else, and the hotel offers it in abundance from numerous rooms as well as the roof-garden, thus delightfully completing the range of pleasures one can savour under the hospitable wings of Eridanus Hotel.

Eridanus Hotel rooms are all luxurious, made with timeless, top quality and class material, while “cosy” and friendly to the visitor, with strokes of carefully studied details and accessories such as designer furniture and bed linens specially designed for the hotel, as well as state of the art equipment.

Each one of the hotel’s 38 luxurious rooms is especially designed to offer visitors comfort, luxury and relaxation featuring: air conditioner, balcony, coffee maker, mini bar(with free soft drinks), satellite TV, Soundproofed windows, direct dial phone, electronic key, safe, hair dryer, shower, movies in room.

A modern and fully equipped gym with steam bath also operates within the hotel

Every corner of the hotel has its own identity. It is statically decorated to a high quality while the combination of different materials create a unique atmosphere.

The colours, the lights, the exceptional friendly service have metamorphose an old neoclassic building into a diachronic, and above all qualitative destination.

The communal areas of the hotel are prepared to welcome you, while they can offer moments of joy, and relaxation.

Eridanus Hotel enjoys the unique privilege of being served ,also available for room service, by one of the most timeless and beautiful restaurants in the city, “Varoulko” restaurant, operated by chef Lefteris Lazarou, which is considered one of the finest in Athens and comprises an affiliated business located adjacent to the hotel.

This is a classic and “original” restaurant of its type, serving Greek cuisine with an imaginative touch, with Mediterranean and international savours based on seafood but also encompassing meat in its creative dishes. “Varoulko” is a site not often missed by hotel visitors

The hotel’s cafe-bar and pantry are the niche for coffee, tea, beverages, drinks and light snacks ,including breakfast, or even meals served in the hotel’s special dining areas or right at your room by a perfectly efficient room-service.
LOCATION
“Eridanus” is located in the area of Keramikos, at 78 Piraeus street, right across the archaeological site with the very same name.

The area of Keramikos is very significant, from both a historical and cultural point of view, for its archaeological value and its leading role in modern day Athens, since it is one of the city’s most emerging areas.

The city’s down town area enjoys all the facilities available in European capitals, both in the daytime and at night, thus gratifying visitors every interest.

The hotel is located 35km (45 minutes) from Athens Airport. Exit the airport from Attiki Odos and head for the city centre. Eridanus is conveniently located very close to the Commercial Triangle of Athens – Omonoia Sq-Syntagma Sq-Monastiraki.

A new, unconventional proposal for those who seek something different in the centre of Athens is the fully renovated hotel Stratos Vassilikos.
In the intensity of impressionism and hyperrealism, the totally renovated hotel unit is now in position to offer to the guest the emotional uplift and euphoria in combination with the coverage of his demands, in a place that combines harmonically the floral style with the frugality and relaxing mood.

The guest’s first surprise is created by the facade of the hotel, which borrows elements from the Italian renaissance and after that from the imposing presence and vividness of the reception. In an effort to succeed welcoming the guest in a warm and intimate way we have replaced the classic front desk that many hotels have, with a reception lounge.
LOCATION
The hotel is placed in one of the safest areas of Athens near the Concert Hall and the U.S. embassy with many cafes and restaurants nearby. The Acropolis, the shopping center and the Syntagma square are a 30 minutes walk from the hotel.

Athens International Airport is easily accessible via the Attica Road. The airport shuttle bus stops two blocks from the hotel. A taxi should cost around 25 EUR. From the airport head north west to Athens then follow signs for Ilissia.
PROPERTY AMENITIES
Hotel Facilities: Disabled Facilities, Business Services, Concierge Services, Valet Parking, Internet Access, Elevator/Lift, Babysitting/child services, Laundry/valet services, Masseuse, Wake up calls, Car rental desk, Barber/beauty shop, Doctor on call, Jacuzzi, Free Outdoor Parking, Coffe Shop, Restaurant, Meeting/Banquet Facilities, WiFi/Wireless Lan
CANCELLATION POLICY
2. Cancellations made within the cancellation deadline will be assessed a 1 night room rate unless cancellation policy is defined different.
